History

Our founder Yew Ying Fong was born in Taipu country in eastern Guangdong Province, Meizhou prefecture of China. At the age 24, he left is home town and traveled to Singapore and learned business with a fellow villagers from his hometown . Determined to become a business man, he moved to Malaya and start his own business. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the second world war, the Japanese invasion of the South, the business was disrupted. After the end of the Second War, he seized the opportunity to rebuild his business.

In 1942 our founder Yew Ying Fong established his first shop and founded "Chop Nan Yuan". The shop was named "Nan Yuan", which literally means "Origin from the South" it was located at Jalan Dato Teoh Siew Khor used to be the town central of Kluang, today it has become a historical heritage hat reminds the Kluang people of their roots. In the 1960, he advocated the formation of the Tai Pu Association and looked for a venue, established the clubhouse and served as the president.During his tenure as president, he initiated the establishment of a scholarship foundation to benefit the Tai Pu people.

In 1965, he was awarded the PPM medal by Supreme Head of Malaysia. In 1976, he was awarded the title of JP by the Sultan of Johor and became the famous philanthropist in Kluang. The business was prosperous and he set up the second branch at Jalan Mersing in 1970. The founder's eldest son Yaw Sim Leong grew up dedicating himself to the family business and to realizing his father;'s goal. With determination and astute fore-sight he established himself and leaded his siblings to expand Malaysia, His brother Yaw Mei Leong decide to brand the cosmetic business with the attachment of his belated father's name "Yin Fong". From a small, homegrown business to a group of companies with global ambitions, Nan Yuan has become a leading figure in Fabric and Cosmetic business in Hong Kong and China.

In late of 1990, Kluang commercial and financial area shifted to Jalan Mohd Lazim and Jalan Dato Haji Hassan , his sibling took the opportunity to setup Nan Yuan 2000 Sdn Bhd and Nan Yuan Fashion Sdn Bhd at the Business Center of Kluang. Nan Yuan Sdn Bhd began to import fabric from oversea and venture in curtain fabric industry. Nan Yuan has become a household namef rom Kluang to whole Malaysia. to date, Nan Yuan are rapidly become a household name, gained trust and build reputation among local people an is synonymous with hight quality and trusted department store offering wide range of outstanding fabric, fashion, curtain and renowned household products. Our founder values are Honesty and Integrated ,Respect and Empathy which understanding that our corporate social responsibility we always give back to societyby doing community works such as sponsoring annual Happy Run in Kluang, donation to Chong Hwa High School for their bursary fund and donation to the folk home.
